Group Classes for Women

At Burnham and Berrow Golf Club we have developed a safe and friendly environment that welcomes new golfers.  We have perfect facilities for all new golfers, inlcuding a 9 hole full size golf course where you dont have to worry about serious golfers or rules and you can play a few holes, 9 or 18 holes.  We have practice areas for your long shots and your short shots, including putting and bunkers.

All classes are well planned, with fun and laughter always to be had.  Nicola, your PGA golf coach will make sure you are safe and happy, whilst learning at your own pace. No complicated or technical language is used.

During your first class you will have a tour of the facilities and be introduced to key members of staff to help you feel more confident practicing between classes.  We usually enjoy a coffee and chat after each class, and even have social events throughout the year.

We will look after you every step of the way.

Equipment is provided for as long as you need it and no special clothing is required; just wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and flat trainer type shoes.  All you really need to bring is a smile and your sense of humour!

In May 2018 the R&A launched the Women In Golf Charter with the aim to increase women and girls' participation and membership in golf; to encourage more families to enjoy golf as a leisure activity; and to encourage more opportunities for women to work and volunteer in the golf industry.  Since then over 400 organisations worldwide have committed to developing that more inclusive culture within golf.  Burnham and Berrow is one of them and is stiving to make the necessary changes to help females feel more welcome.

Love.golf Taster Experience Days held through Spring/early summer

Before you commit to a golf club or golf coach, I recommend all beginners or new golfers begin with a day learning and exploring the game of golf.  Our taster experience days, always begin with a light lunch and a natter so you can get to know the other new golfers, we then go out onto the practice area and learn to hit a few balls, putt and do a few little shots around the green.  Then the fun really starts and we go out for a game!  It's not nearly as scary as it first seems as we stay as a group and I (your coach) am with you 100% of the time.  We generally only have time for a couple of holes, as we do hit A LOT of shots, but we always have fun and it really is the only way to really understand if golf might be the sport for you.

No Experience! No rules! No Pressure! No expectations! Just a sense of humour!

So you fancy giving golf a try? The pull of the great outdoors, fresh air and stunning views are tempting; add to that a delicious lunch, fun and laughter, what more could you want?

Whether you are on your own, with a friend or partner, we have the perfect day for you.  Nicola will take care of you, guide you and help you through your golfing day. Click here to register your interest

New to golf & Beginner Group Lessons for Women

All my beginner group sessions are women only, the reason for this is because women and men learn very differently in most cases.  The Love.golf programme I use is designed specifically with women in mind.

We have a very well planned out programme of sessions that include lessons on technique, putting, chipping, bunkers and long game; plus lessons on the course.  Golf is a sport that should be played on the course, it is not a stationary game where you only hit long shots, but a game made up of clever thinking, strategy, hitting the ball, soft touch, walking, enjoying the scenery, chatting to friends, challenging yourself and so much more.

Alongside the weekly sessions we also have dedicated volunteers (love.golf champions) who give up their time to take new goflers out onto the course. They guide you and help you stay safe on the course, help you understand the ettiquette and basic rules.  They stay with you until you feel you are able to go out by yoursleves.

The programme is designed so you can learn and develop at your own pace.

Nicola uses simple, easy to understand techniques and lessons are never complicated or boring.  We will generally always stop for a cuppa afterwards too to help build friendships.
